Bachelor of Theology Honours

The BISA Bachelor of Theology Honours is a one-year full time on-campus programme, but it may be completed on a part-time basis over 2 years.  The BTh Honours is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a National Qualifications Framework Level 8 contact-mode degree programme.

The programme is designed to make the student more conversant with the disciplines of biblical exegesis and theology, with a more specialized knowledge of their major area of study. The course will also prepare the student to enter a Masters’ degree in Theology.

Graduates with a minimum average of 70% in the BTh programme are eligible to apply for entrance into the BTh Honours programme.

What can I expect to pay?   You will require, to graduate, 30 credits x R1180.00 per credit

What is the BTh Hons?

The Honours degree programme is primarily a self-study course designed to stimulate independent research and critical reflection culminating in the submission of a compulsory mini-dissertation in a chosen field of study. Each module comprises reading and written assignments, some of which will be presented by students for critical discussion during seminar sessions. The role of the lecturer is primarily to manage the learning process.

The cost of the programme in 2024 is R35,400-00 for full time students  [30 credits x R1,180.00].
